CAIT opposes opening of liquor shops #FinanceIndia #StockMarketNEWS
New Delhi, May 4 (KNN) The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on Monday opposed the opening of liquor shops in different states of the country.
During the first day of third phase of national lockdown in the country from today, the opening of liquor shops by various state governments is a much distress step. CAIT strongly opposed the decision which is quite alarming in present conditions, the traders body said in a statement.
CAIT called the move as injustice to the traders of the country including Delhi, who have been asked to shut down their business establishments which have been followed by the traders across the country its true letter and spirit.
This would defeat the very purpose of lockdown and will destroy the advantages and benefits accrued from 40 days of national lockdown in the Country, CAIT added.
Condemning the state government’s decision, National President of CAIT BC Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said that this decision of the governments is a live proof of their mental bankruptcy and selfishness approach of earning revenue.
With such a decision, the state governments have played with the health of the citizens and which needs to be condemned in strongest words, they added.
Both Bhartia and Khandelwal demanded all the state governments of the country that either order to close down liquor shops, else allow traders too.
