Gurugram based company lauds govt's move to release GST, Customs refunds New Delhi, May 5 (KNN) Avalara, a tax technology company, lauded the governments move to release all Goods and Service Tax (GST) and Customs refunds to provide relief to MSMEs hit by COVID-19.

“A much appreciated and welcomed move by the CBIC - they have cleared over Rs.900 crores worth of GST, IGST, customs and duty drawback refunds in a record 16 days, offering relief to businesses, especially for MSMEs at this time of difficulty," said Manjula Muthukrishnan, Managing Director – India, Avalara Technologies Private Limited.

"This move will not only help them put back some amount in the business, take care of the immediate working capital shortfall, it will also help them clear wages and salaries for their workers and staff," he added.

The government recently announced to release all GST & Customs refunds to provide benefit to around 1 lakh business entities including MSMEs.
